from the “Periodic Table of Poetry” series (#060, Nd)

I am drawn to you,
when I think of how

With your electric charge,
you get me charged up

You use my favorite gems,
and you make every point

You’re focus must be why
I must come to you

And now you know how
so I was sent to

and the glass blowers
with you on their eyes

They loaned me their specs,
and through the green-grey specs

I did a double-take —
leaving me to see

‘Cause on those glasses,
you worked in pairs there

‘Cause to the Greeks
that’s where together’s

And all of this time
but now you’ve proven

you pull on me so,
you’re so magnetic.

my motor’s going,
thinking it’s a game...

Garnet and crystals,
seem laser clear.

I’m so drawn to you
until you’re near.

I love my glassware,
a glass blowing lathe,

were making glassware
so they could see.

I put them on —
the flame was gone.

there was no glare —
just molten glass.

you weren’t alone —
so we could see.

you are a new twin,
how you fit in...

I was drawn to you
you can help me see.
