other horizons
I live in the basement
it’s all I can afford
nothing grows there
but I would have a little plant
at my office desk
every morning
water it watch it grow
I’d take on all those tasks
I’d even have my own partition
I live in a room
with no view
but I don’t need one
no oceans, no skylines
when I make it
I’ll look out the window
at the whole damn city
