Preface
I used to work regularly for an acquaintance rape education group. However, I haven’t for over two years now, and my writing has changed because of it. A large portion of my work used to be devoted to the subject. Less than five pieces in this new book are about rape.
But I read through my short stories, for instance, and I see that there are still issues of feminism and sexism apparent in my work. I’m glad to know that even though the focus has changed slightly, I haven’t lost sight of the cause.
I also think that because of my separation from the work in rape education, my writing has covered a wider variety of issues. From childhood to death, from love to separation, from family to loneliness, from wealth to homelessness.
I hope there is something for everyone in this collection. I hope something in this book touches a nerve with everyone that reads it. Thank you.
