On July 31st 2009, Janet Kuypers performed this feature at at Mercury Cafe (1505 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago). Usually Kuypers only reads from a selection of poems at this venue, but this time Kuypers is bringing a projector for images from around the world to be displayed throughout the performance (which will also help to block light from the outside front floor-to-ceiling windows facing Chicago Avenue during the show). This performance will also feature prerecorded back-up music (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, keyboard and even natural percussion) by John Yotko throughout her readings (and this is the first time John Yotko has created music for individual poems for a performance art show like this!).
