Kuypers usually looks for pieces about anything from the beach (and water), and this was usually her theme for past features with Beach Poets. But for this feature (where Kuypers was the final featured reader), Kuypers chose titles of poems that incluided years (since Beach Poets had existed since 1990). So... on to the show: |

This poem was read because Kuypers believed the poem was written in 1990, the same year Beach Poets started. However, the is some evidence that it was written in 1989. |

Kuypers also read additional poems live at the Beach that day when the camera was turned so you could see more of not only the beach but also of Lake Michigan. This camera angle made the microphone catch a lot of wind, but there are more poems from this series of Conversations poems and poems with years in the titles that were read that day. |
