Chapter 38

Chapter 38 is volume two of the collection book series of the writing (and occasional artwork) from Janet Kuypers which has been performed in poetry readings and performance art shows.
With a title based on the first chapbook Kuypers ever released, Chapter 18 (which was released when Kuypers was 18 years old and appears as a supplement in the first part of the v2 digest-sized book, and at the end of the v1 6"x9" book), this book set contains a history of her work performed in performance art shows and poetry readings. Because there was so much material over the years to cover in this collection, it was divided into two volumes (and both are released within the span of Kuypers being 38 years old).
Because of recent printer changes, this volume is now available as both a cc&d 6"x9" supplement book set (released earlier and less detailed as the digest-sized volume) and as a digest-sized 5.5"x8.5" book set. Because of design constraints, the cc&d 6"x9" book release of Chapter 38 v2 is not as complete as the digest-sized book release (at 270 pages, ending with the St. Paul’s Performance Art Show). In the 2009 digest-sized releases of Chapter 38 (v1 & 2), both books are also exactly 380 pages.
Below is a listing of all of the writings in this volume (plus links when possible to the poetry readings/performance art shows). In this listing of published writings, not all of the pieces in the show may be listed here, because some pieces were used in more than one show.
This volume is currently available for sale online in two different formats...

Chapter 38 (v2) is now on sale!

Below is a listing of all of the writings appearing in the book (the artwork is not listed on this page.) Also, we have listed the book contents for these two books side by side, so you can see the differences between them (also, sections missing from volume 1 may appear in volume 2 of Chapter 38 as well).

Also, any additional readings and performances before Kuypers’ 39th birthday (like the videoed poetry readings with C Ra McGuirt of Penny Dreadful Press in Nashville Tennessee in the beginning of May 2009) will be placed into a “Chapter 38” chapbook, that will be availlable on line before July 2009. (if there is enough material, this supplement edition of “Chapter 38” may even be released as a perfect-bound bonus book edition.)
